After the announcement of Uwe Steuler as chief referee, the German Wrestling League (DRL) has made another important personnel decision. Sven Metzger will take over the office of the press spokesman. Sven Metzger has been active in the past two years as a reporter from the halls of the Wrestling Association for meinsportradio.de, and caused a nationwide stir in the wrestling scene with a comment on the dispute between the German Wrestling League and the German Wrestling Association.
“The talks behind the secenes of the National Wrestling League led me to believe that the path taken by the teams of the DRL is the only suitable one for the top class wrestling in Germany. It is a great honor to be able to contribute to presenting this fantastic sport in a way it deserves to be presented, “says Sven Metzger, explaining his motivation to change from reporter to the participant. Metzger, who writes regularly for a weekly newspaper and continues to work for meinsportradio.de as a reporter, continues: “Wrestling can do more than what is currently possible under the DRB. We also want to be reflected in our public relations work.”
DRL Managing Director Markus Scheu adds: “Our goal is to establish the German Wrestling League as the top spot for our sport. In order to achieve such an aim professional press work is indispensable. We are happy to be able to present Sven Metzger, a profound and renowned connoisseur of wrestling, as press spokesman for the DRL. ”
