KLZ: AKS Piotrkow Trybunalski wins championship

A week before its end, the team of the AKS Piotrkow Trybunalski could secure the championship of the national Polish league (KLZ). The KLZ authorities created an extraordinary setting and turned the venue into an arena reminiscent of ancient Rome.

Even after nine fights the team of the AKS remained unbeaten and became rightful champion in the premiere season. The last matchday (20.2 until 22.02.) decides, who will get to hold the second place. The team of Unia Raciborz is currently just one point ahead of Grunwald Poznan. The KLZ managing director Damian Fedorowicz described the season as a huge success and announced that he already has the commitment of 10 teams for the new round. Thanks to clever marketing, more than 50,000 spectators were lured into the halls. With the help of professional light and sound technology, LED bands and other show elements, the wrestling was put in the limelight. All of these efforts were crowned by a weekly live broadcast on Polish sports television.

The DRL congratulates the AKS Piotrkow Trybunalski on the championship and Damian Fedorowicz and his team on the KLZ’s successful start-up season, which could serve as a role model in many areas.
