Second round of the DRL shows great sport once again – Victory for Ispringen and Schifferstadt

The second round of the German Ringer League presented the spectators with wrestling at the highest level. In the 18:9 victory of Schifferstadt against Eisleben the result looked more and more obvious as the evening went by. Eisleben, who had competed with three former world champions, defied Markus Scherer’s „miracle troop“ in various fights. The spectators on site were able to witness matches unlike any other witnessed at major international tournaments. The well-informed Schifferstadt audience wildly celebrated their team after the important victory.

In Ispringen a victory for the domestic team at 14:5 against Nendingen has been achieved. Even though Nendingen had to relinquish an athlete due to a short-term hospital stay, spectators saw plenty of world class gathered on the mat. Absolutely outstanding on the side of the Ispringer team were the victories of Igor Besleaga against the Vice World Champion of 2016, Daniel Cataraga and the clear victory of Yuri Belonovski against Piotr Ianulov. The team of wrestling legend Alexander Leipold made it clear in the second round that their sole aim are the DRL finals.

The individual results of the DRL duels can be obtained after the end of the match at http://db.ringerliga.de.

Next Saturday the DRL continues with Eisleben against Weingarten and Nendingen against Schifferstadt.
